Families are invited to enter the Fly With Us competition with:
- a video submission (songs welcome) of 5 minutes or less
OR
-a short essay or poetry submission of 500 words or less.
By:
-a child, aged 7-17, with their parent or guardian’s consent
OR
-by the family, including at least one parent or guardian
On one of the topics below:
1) Starting in 1932, the Tel Aviv-based Levant Fair featured a flying camel as its logo. A modified version of the flying camel logo is still used today by Expo Tel Aviv. The flying camel is said to represent perseverance in the face of adversity. It stands firmly grounded by tradition, while its wings enable it to soar to new heights of innovation.
How does your family successfully integrate both tradition and innovation, like Israel and Israelis?

2) How does Israel inspire you to make your dreams possible?
Optional prompts to discuss as a family:
-What are stories about our family showing the “chutzpah”/audacity to follow a dream or innovate in response to a challenge?
-How has our family shown resilience, weathering good times and bad successfully in the past? During the COVID-19 crisis?
Entering
Each entrant may enter only once, but multiple entries from the same family are welcome, provided the content for each entry is unique.
A family with three age-eligible children may wish for each child to enter the competition, with adult permission, totaling three separate entries. Another family, with three age-eligible children, may wish to submit a single entry together as a family, with 2 children and 1 adult contributing to a single entry.
The number of entries for a family may not exceed that family’s total number of age-eligible children (ages 7-17).
A family may not submit the same entry material to more than one site.
Entries submitted must not infringe on the rights of any other artist or person.
People in Videos
A signed release from any recognizable people in your video is required, and you must be able to provide copies of those releases to Returning the Sparks upon request. You can download the photo consent form here.
The “Fly With Us” Contest runs until June 1st, 2023.
One grand prize winner will be awarded 4 Delta Premium Select tickets from the United States to Tel Aviv, and $5,000 USD, which can be used towards a custom trip, 4-star trip, or 5-star family trip with Authentic Israel, in addition to being featured in publicity.
Additional prizes and honorable mentions may be awarded at the sole discretion of participating federations and IAC New England and Jookender.
There is no cost to enter Fly With Us.
After entering the competition, your effort will immediately be recognized with a gift of discounts with partner organizations and businesses, offering your family additional ways of connecting with Israel. To ensure access to your discount page, please disable your pop-up blocker.
Judging
The grand-prize winner will be selected by a panel of Returning the Sparks and Consulate General of Israel to New England staff and advisors. Judges shall determine eligibility with sole and absolute discretion. All decisions made by the judges are final.
Winning
Please note that the winner will need to provide an IRS Form W-9 to Returning the Sparks before receiving the prize money. Payment for all taxes related to winning prizes associated with Fly With Us are the sole responsibility of the winning families. The single grand prize-winning family agrees to sign an affidavit of eligibility and publicity/liability release of a major prize and a publicity/liability release for each travel prize winner, which includes provisions that (1) grant Delta the right to use the name, likeness, voice, and biography of the winning adults and children for promotional purposes, and (2) release Delta and its affiliated companies from and against any and all liability arising from the use of the prize awarded to the winner or otherwise in connection with the Contest. The single grand prize-winning family will have until December 31, 2023 to BOOK 4 Delta Premium Select seats through Delta Airlines (redeeming the prize travel certificate).
